Since 2019, the Taiwan FactCheck Center (TFC) has been organizing the Asian Fact-Checking Forum to foster professional exchanges among fact-checkers across Asia and increase public awareness of fact-checking in Taiwan. By bringing best practices and insights from international fact-checking organizations, the forum serves as a platform to strengthen Taiwan’s role in the global fact-checking community.
This year, we are honored to welcome members of the Asia-Oceania Alliance Steering Committee to Taiwan, along with fact-checking representatives from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, North Asia, and Oceania. Together, we will explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the fact-checking landscape in the region.
In addition to the international discussions in the morning, the afternoon program features a series of fact-checking and investigative journalism talks, showcasing innovative projects from Taiwan’s fact-checking and media literacy communities. We are delighted to host the 2024 Excellence in Journalism Award winner, who will share his experiences and stories from investigative reporting work.
To further promote fact-checking, we have designed digital verification workshops and teaching materials design sessions for high school educators. We warmly welcome fact-checking professionals, journalists, educators, and anyone interested in media literacy to join us!
The 2025 Taipei Fact-Checking Forum aims to:
- Enhance awareness of Taiwan’s information challenges and explore potential solutions.
